Meet Aaron Childers
My name is Aaron Childers, and I am proud to serve as the Manager of Sports & Recreation overseeing JKC Soccer programming.
After spending the last six years working between U.S. Soccer and Major League Soccer in Coaching Education operations, while also remaining active in refereeing, I am excited to begin this new chapter with all of you.
Prior to my time with U.S. Soccer and MLS, I coached in Topeka with Topeka Soccer Club and served as Assistant Executive Director with Sunflower Soccer. My wife, Rachel, and I live in Overland Park with our daughter, Margot, and our two dogs, Kenzie and Kona.
Our belief
At JKC Soccer, we believe the game should be accessible, positive, ambitious, and meaningful for every child who steps onto the field.
Our program is built on a strong grassroots foundation. We welcome players of all experience levels, from those touching a soccer ball for the first time to players who already love the game and want to keep developing.
Our player pathway
JKC Soccer now offers two connected pathways for families.
- Grassroots Recreation and Development: A supportive, community-centered environment focused on skill building, confidence, fun, and a long-term love of the game.
- JKC Soccer Premier Competitive Teams: A higher-level competitive arm designed for motivated players seeking advanced coaching, increased training demands, and meaningful competition within a player-first philosophy.
This means families do not have to choose between accessibility and ambition. Players can begin their journey here and continue growing when they are ready for more.
How players grow here
Across every age and level, we focus on confidence, ball mastery, decision making, teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and effort.
Our sessions emphasize learning through play, repetition, guided discovery, and game realism. The goal is to help players understand the game while building the confidence and joy that keeps them coming back.
Clear expectations
Not every player needs a high-pressure competitive setting immediately. Many players simply need a healthy place to learn, gain confidence, and fall in love with the sport.
Other players are ready to be challenged further through increased expectations, elevated coaching, and stronger competition. Our goal is to place players in the right environment at the right time.
More than soccer
JKC Soccer is about more than goals, standings, and drills. It is about building community and building people.
