Volunteer coaches are expected to review and act upon the following code of conduct.

• I will ensure that J Baseball League activities are fun, inclusive, and focused on skill development and sportsmanship for every player
• I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my players above any desire to win, understanding that long-term growth and enjoyment come first
• I will treat each player as an individual, recognizing the wide range of physical, emotional, and developmental differences within youth athletes
• I will treat all players fairly and respectfully, regardless of gender, race, religion, culture, background, or ability level
• I will promote a safe and healthy environment, discouraging behaviors that could endanger a player’s physical or emotional well-being
• I will plan and lead practices that are engaging, challenging, and developmentally appropriate for all players on my team
• I will model positive behavior, demonstrating fair play, respect, and good sportsmanship at all times
• I will provide an environment free from drugs, tobacco, and alcohol, and I will refrain from their use at any J Baseball League activity or event
• I will be knowledgeable of the Official Rules of Baseball and all J Baseball League rules, and I will help my players understand and follow these rules
• I will respect the umpires and their authority before, during, and after games, acknowledging that they play a vital role in our league
• I will respectfully manage the conduct of assistant coaches, players, and spectators, addressing behavior that is inappropriate, unsportsmanlike, or harmful to the team environment. When necessary, I will ask individuals to leave the field or sidelines to maintain a positive and safe atmosphere
