Why We Built This Program
Youth sports have become increasingly expensive, demanding, and adult-centered.
Families are being asked to sacrifice more weekends, more money, and more of childhood
at younger and younger ages.
Nearly 70% of kids quit organized sports by age 13. We believe that should make every youth sports organization ask, “Is there a better way?”
J Premier Soccer exists because we believe there is a healthier middle ground:
a competitive environment where players can improve, compete seriously,
and still enjoy being kids.
This is not recreational soccer. But it is also not built around the idea
that childhood should feel like a professional academy.
A Better Way To Experience Competitive Soccer
Traditional premier soccer programs can become overwhelming for families.
Our goal is to provide the structure, coaching, and competition players need
while protecting the joy, confidence, and balance that keep kids in the game long term.

Tryout Process
Tryouts help our staff evaluate player readiness, roster fit,
and appropriate team placement for the seasonal year.
Players will be evaluated on technical ability, decision-making,
coachability, competitiveness, attitude, and long-term developmental fit.
This is not simply about identifying the biggest, fastest,
or most physically mature players.
Important
Roster spots are limited. Not all players may be placed on a team
if numbers, roster balance, or developmental fit do not align.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this recreational soccer?
No. J Premier Soccer is a competitive program for players ready
for a higher level of training and competition.
Is this full travel soccer?
It is a competitive soccer program, but the goal is to reduce unnecessary travel
by focusing on local league competition in the KC metro area.
Can my child play other sports?
Yes. We support multi-sport athletes, especially at younger ages.
Is this program Shabbat friendly?
J Premier Soccer is inclusive of both our Jewish community at The J and the broader Kansas City community,
which includes families of many different backgrounds and traditions.
We welcome families who observe Shabbat to participate. However, league and tournament schedules are managed
externally, and we are unable to control game times or submit scheduling requests related to religious observance.
Families should expect that games, tournaments, or team activities may take place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays throughout the seasonal year. Refunds are not provided for missed time, and programming costs cannot be prorated based on participation.
What if my child is nervous about tryouts?
That is completely normal. Our goal is to create a positive evaluation environment
where players can compete, listen, learn, and be themselves.
Is playing time guaranteed?
At these younger ages, we believe players need meaningful opportunities to develop.
Playing time decisions will consider attendance, effort, attitude,
roster size, and competition level. However, our ultimate goal is to provide as much playing time for every athlete as possible. Our focus is not results-driven, it is child-motivated.
How many teams will be formed?
Team formation will depend on tryout numbers, roster balance,
player fit, and coaching availability.
A Different Kind of Promise
We cannot promise scholarships, professional contracts, or trophies.
What we can promise is that your child will be coached intentionally,
treated with respect, challenged appropriately,
and placed in an environment designed around long-term growth,
confidence, and love for the game.
