The J - Sports & Recreation

Fall Baseball

General Season Information

J Baseball is a recreational youth baseball program open to children from all over Kansas City. Practices will begin in August and games will start August 29th and go through November 1st. Games will be played on weekends. Additional weekends/Fridays may be used depending on weather. T-Ball will take place Wednesday evenings. While all league games will take place at the Jewish Community Center in Overland Park, league provided practice fields will be at Overland Park City fields.  Individual teams may secure their own practice fields elsewhere. League provided practice fields are allocated through a process to be described at the pre-season coaches' meetings.

For more information or questions, contact Ben Heger at 913-399-3045 or [email protected]

Registration Process

Registration for the 2026 Fall Season opens March 21st.
All players register individually. However, head coaches can register a team, and the system will generate a team code for them to share with their players. This code should be used during registration to join the team. Those without a specific coach may register as a "free agent" if they would like to be placed onto a team. Teammate requests are accepted.

A fun, 6-week skill-based class introducing young children to the basic skills involved with T-Ball/Baseball/Softball – throwing, catching, hitting, fielding and running the bases. This class is led by parent volunteers, with J staff there to assist with drills and supervise. All parents are expected to be on the field in assisting with their child. Teams should be created by head coaches, team codes can be given to those looking to join the team. Modified game playing – no scores are kept – is introduced as the program evolves during the season. Teams are capped at 10 players. Foam bats and balls are used.

This is strictly a clinic/game-based program, no practices are included through The J. Players will receive a t-shirt jersey and end-of-season medal.

Wednesdays - 5:30-6:30 pm - Fields 3 and 4 at The J. 6 weeks starting on Sept. 3rd and going through Oct. 8th.
