Welcome to Triple Threat Basketball, a year-round competitive youth basketball program designed to help boys and girls in 2nd–8th grade develop elite skills, grow their basketball IQ, and learn how to compete at a higher level.
Our program includes:
• Age-based skill development and tiered team levels
• Experienced and championship-winning coaches
• Multiple practices per week
• Games in competitive leagues and tournaments
Whether your child is looking to sharpen their game and compete at a higher level, Triple Threat offers a path for growth, discipline, and success — both on and off the court.
Winter Season 2025-26
November 3, 2025 - March 1, 2026
For the Winter season, teams are formed from those who play on a Triple Threat team in the Fall and from new players who participate in a tryout to fill open roster spots.

Registration for the tryout is required - no fees are collected until after a player has been placed on a team. Placement notifications and practice schedules will be sent out by October 17. Practices may be held at The J or offsite at 96th and Lamar or 99th and Antioch.
Team formation for the Spring/Summer seasons will take place in March. Teams for players in grades 2nd-8th will be offered in the spring.
🔷 Team Levels
🔵 Triple Threat Blue/White (Advanced)
Our most competitive level. These teams compete in high-level tournaments and face the top talent in the region. Players must be fully committed to the season schedule and willing to work hard both in practices and games.
🔴 Triple Threat Red (Intermediate)
Perfect for players who are still developing core skills and confidence. These teams compete in local leagues or regional tournaments appropriate for their level and may occasionally face stronger opponents to stretch their abilities.
📍 Practice & Game Locations
• Practices are held in gyms within 10–15 minutes of The J
• Some teams may practice at The J itself
• Games are primarily in Shawnee Mission School District gyms
• Occasional travel across the Kansas City metro area
👕 Uniforms
New players will purchase a custom Triple Threat uniform package:
• Jersey
• Shorts
• Shooting shirt
💲 $60 one-time fee
Uniforms may be reused in future seasons if still in good condition.
